The Corporation is a Canadian documentary from 2003, particularly the critical of the modern corporations and capitalism. It was written by legal scholar Joel Bakan and produced by Mark Achbar and Jennifer Abbott. In the film, the corporations are considered as real people. The companies are looking for the DSM-IV guidelines on mental state of a person. The result: All the criteria for severe mental disorders apply to corporations. Robert D. Hare, professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia and FBI consultant, concludes that a profit clinically guided group is equivalent to a psychopath. Other topics include: Smedley Butler and the 1933 attempted coup against Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the privatization the urban water supply in Bolivia by the Bechtel Corporation in 2000 and the resulting protests in Cochabamba. The film also includes interviews with prominent critics of capitalism such as Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, Michael Moore, Vandana Shiva and Howard Zinn on the one hand, on the other hand, but also the opinions of well-known CEOs such as Ray Anderson, the views of Peter Drucker and Milton Friedman and other proponents of free market economy such as the Fraser Institute. Furthermore, Dr. Samuel Epstein the company Monsanto is interviewed, the sales-growth hormone Posilac to increase milk production. The documentary "The Corporation" got 31 international Prizes.
